GMO
We’re asked to accept, for example, that it’s safe to eat food containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) because, the experts point out, there’s no evidence that it isn’t and no reason to believe that altering genes precisely in a lab is more dangerous than altering them wholesale through traditional breeding. But to some people the very idea of transferring genes between species conjures up mad scientists running amok—and so, two centuries after Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, they talk about Frankenfood.

Radicals they revile

“The threat to men of great dignity, privilege and pretense is
not from the radicals they revile; it is from accepting their own myth.
Exposure to reality remains the nemesis of the great -- a little understood
thing.”

Unseen matter — particles
Galaxies appear to be rotating so fast that they should have spun apart long ago, throwing off stars like sparks from a Fourth of July pinwheel. There just isn’t enough gravity to hold a galaxy together, unless you assume that it hides a huge amount of unseen matter — particles that neither emit or absorb light.

Economic vise indicators = belt tightening
(Economic signs) More than three quarters of the American workforce are suffering from declining wage growth and with wage growth now an almost perfect predictor of consumer spending, one would expect retail sales to take a hit.
Of course this trend doesn’t just affect the Best Buys and Gaps of the world, it also takes its toll on hookers, liquor stores, drug dealers, and casinos and when sex, drugs, and gambling aren’t selling you can go ahead and kiss your “recovery” hopes goodbye.

(Ranked no. 7) We shouldn't worry too much about the waning power of our passport, though; it’s apparently still the document of choice for “for spies, state-sponsored assassins, terrorists and just about anyone else seeking to be plausibly ordinary across a range of languages, ethnicities and religions,” according to the Globe and Mail.

the Rock is cookin'
That means The Rock eats the equivalent of 5.5 two-pieces cod each and every day!
A two-piece fish and chips from Ches's in St. John's has 6 ounces of cod. (Ches's Fish & Chips)
The wrestler-turned-Hollywood superstar eats seven meals per day as part of his dietary plan, two of which have cod as the main source of protein.
Along with seafood, Johnson also eats 12 eggs daily, along with healthy servings of chicken, steak, protein powder and vegetables.
However it isn't all lean protein for The Rock. While training for the movie Hercules, Dwayne Johnson famously treated himself to one "cheat meal" after 100 days of eating clean.
What did he have? Twelve pancakes, four "double-dough" pizzas and 21 brownies.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson photographed himself during his cheat meal day during the filming of Hercules in 2014. (twoscoopsgethuge.com)
I think by now we can all "smell what the Rock is cookin'," and as it turns out, it's a whole lot of food.

economy USA, the illusion
Perhaps when all such excuses have been tried and found wanting, reporters and pundits will be forced to admit that among all the vicissitudes of the last six years, the consistent element has been liberal policies. Those liberal policies–extravagant government spending, steadily mounting debt, endless regulations, cronyism and the suppression of innovation, promotion of expensive energy, war on cheap electricity, and all the rest–have condemned a generation of Americans to limited opportunities for employment, promotion and the acquisition of wealth.

We all long to be desired
You'll just sing about Jesus and drink wine all day
It's great to be an American
Ain't no lions or tigers ain't no mamba snake
Just the sweet watermelon and the buckwheat cake
Everybody is as happy as a man can be
Climb aboard little wog sail away with me
Randy Newman - Sail Away Lyrics | MetroLyrics
[ We all long to be desired]---“How miserably hypocritical, you might say, but no sooner am I offered a chance to flee Hell than I yearn to stay. Few families hold their relations as closely as do prisons. Few marriages sustain the high level of passion that exists between criminals and those who seek to bring them to justice. It’s no wonder the Zodiac Killer flirted so relentlessly with the police. Or that Jack the Ripper courted and baited detectives with his - or her - coy letters. We all wish to be pursued. We all long to be desired.” ― Chuck Palahniuk, Damned

[nuthang new]-The Cheka
[nuthang new]-The Cheka is reported to have practiced torture. Depending on Cheka committees in various cities, the methods included:[2] being skinned alive, scalped, "crowned" with barbed wire, impaled, crucified, hanged, stoned to death, tied to planks and pushed slowly into furnaces or tanks of boiling water,[2] or rolled around naked in internally nail-studded barrels. Chekists reportedly poured water on naked prisoners in the winter-bound streets until they became living ice statues. Others reportedly beheaded their victims by twisting their necks until their heads could be torn off. The Chinese Cheka detachments stationed in Kiev reportedly would attach an iron tube to the torso of a bound victim and insert a rat in the tube closed off with wire netting, while the tube was held over a flame until the rat began gnawing through the victim's guts in an effort to escape.[2] Anton Denikin's investigation discovered corpses whose lungs, throats, and mouths had been packed with earth.[2][32]
-Women and children were also victims of Cheka terror. Women would sometimes be tortured and raped before being shot. Children between the ages of 8 and 13 were imprisoned and occasionally executed
