Howard Carter (May 9 1874 – March 2 1939) was an English archaeologist and Egyptologist. Born in the London district of Kensington,[1] his childhood was spent primarily in the market town of Swaffham, Norfolk, where he lived with his maiden aunts.[2] He is most famous as the discoverer of KV62, the tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt.Wednesday, November 25, 2009
